New Bible study for seniors: Hope in God (Hebrews 6)

I recently updated my Bible study guide for Hebrews 6:13-19a. The passage is now in an easier translation, and I’ve simplified many of the questions too. It’s especially designed as a Bible study for elders with dementia, but anyone may enjoy it 😇

Here’s the passage:

13 When God gave Abraham his promise, God swore by himself since he couldn’t swear by anyone greater. 14 God said, “I will certainly bless you and multiply your descendants.” 15 So Abraham obtained the promise by showing patience. 16 People swear an oath by something greater than themselves. An oath guarantees what they say and shuts down any argument. 17 So when God wanted to further demonstrate to the heirs of the promise that his purpose doesn’t change, God guaranteed it with an oath. 18 So these are two things that don’t change, because it’s impossible for God to lie. God did this so that we, who have taken refuge in God, could be encouraged to grasp the hope that is set before us. 19 We have this hope as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.

That last sentence is so great, right?! I hope this discussion guide for Hebrews 6 helps you to have an enjoyable, interactive time with the elders in your care.

Peace be with you,
