As we continue the season of Lent, this week’s slightly updated worship service focuses on charity, the act of giving out of love. How does God expand our hearts to “spread the wealth” from what we’ve been given? (Hint: It’s not limited to money.)
As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

And here’s the written church service agenda on charity.
Think ahead for Palm Sunday 🌴
Palm Sunday falls on March 24 this year. If you’d like to get palm fronds for your residents, I suggest you order them right away (like, today😇). Here’s one source to buy palm fronds. Bonus: After the service, you can use the palm leaves as an activity to make palm crosses.
Peace be with you,

Elisa, would you be able to take some of your existing Bible studies and add activities to them. I love your material but after I finish the Lent studies in a few weeks I will have no more of your studies with attached activities. The folks at the als love your studies. Jeannie O’Dell

Thanks Jeannie – I wish I could add activities to all my studies, but that’s really beyond my expertise 😇 However, there are numerous good options online. A couple I recommend are:
Golden Carers (subscription): https://www.goldencarers.com
Creative Engagement (book): https://a.co/d/fOYTcmr

My church ordered the Creative Engagement book but it did not provide Bible studies with activities. It is a good book to read if you are working with a person with dementia, but I am teaching a Bible study to all levels of elderly people. Four in my group are quite bright, just elderly, and have really enjoyed the combination studies and activities that you provide. I did not ask the church to subscribe to Golden Cares after I had already asked them to order the other book and finding that it did not meet my needs. I do thank you for what you do. If you decide to add activities to your other studies, I would love to know about it.
