Dementia-friendly church service: Father’s Day

This week’s slightly updated church service focuses on fathers of all kinds — and, of course, our good Heavenly Father.

As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Editing this video was bittersweet because my own dear father passed away on April 4 this year at age 95. Here’s a photo of us holding hands not long before he died. I miss him …

Watch the 44-minute church service for Father’s Day here. Don’t miss the poem at the end, “Dad’s Hands.”

Here’s the written agenda, too.

Peace be with you,

    Dear Elisa,

I always appreciate your emails and services and have recommended Spiritual Eldercare to many pastors and congregations. I will hold you in my prayers as you grieve your father this Father’s Day. Both my parents have died and I miss them, so I understand how tender these days are. May God hold you in compassion and love, Pastor Leslie

    Hi, Elisa!

What a sweet picture. I am so sorry for your loss. I’m sure this has been a difficult week for you. I look forward to using this service at The Auberge on Sunday. Participation has increased; the residents and staff LOVE your services! I’m sharing some pictures with you from last Sunday.

If you would like to visit The Auberge the next time you are in Phoenix, please reach out to me. I would love to meet you in person and introduce you to a few of the residents and staff.

Take care, and know that I will be praying for you and your Mom during this difficult time.

With God’s blessings always. — Gina
