Dementia-friendly church service: Compassion

This week’s slightly updated nondenominational worship service is on compassion, honor of Mother Teresa’s birthday (Aug. 26). As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Watch the 43-minute church service on compassion here.

And here’s the written agenda on compassion and Mother Teresa.

I particularly love Mother Teresa’s Prayer of Compassion, which I include in the service:

Lord, open our eyes

That we may see you in our brothers and sisters.

Lord, open our ears

That we may hear the cries of the hungry,

the cold, the frightened, the oppressed.

Lord, open our hearts

That we may love each other as you love us.

Renew in us your spirit.

Lord, free us and make us one. Amen.

Peace be with you,
