Dementia-friendly church service: Dignity (Black History Month)

I’ve made just a few minor updates to this week’s nondenominational worship service on dignity, in honor of Black History Month, celebrated in the U.S. every February to honor the contributions and struggles of our Black sisters and brothers.

I hope it’s an encouraging reminder that dignity is 100% universal, based on human beings’ status as image bearers of God.

As always, this service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Once again, I’m indebted to Rev. Alydia Smith of the United Church of Canada, who graciously agreed to review my original 2021 service and to contribute her beautiful prayer “The Light of the World” via video (starting at 27:53).

Watch the 44-minute worship service on dignity here.

And here’s the written agenda.

Peace be with you,
