10K YouTube subscribers!

As I was uploading this week’s church service video on YouTube today, I noticed a fun milestone: 10,000 subscribers! 🎉

I’m not a numbers person and it has never been my goal to reach any numerical level … but to me, this number reminds me that God is awakening people to the tremendous need for ministering to elders, particularly those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Hallelujah!

From what I’ve heard and seen, I know that many Spiritual Eldercare YouTube subscribers are:

  • Senior care home activity directors and other staff who have made spiritual care a priority for their residents.
  • Family members worshiping with their loved ones again in a format that works for both.
  • Volunteers eager to serve elders with a Bible study discussion, hymn singalong, or church service.
  • Pastors, chaplains, and lay leaders customizing my materials for their own group and context.

For those of you who enjoy this kind of thing, here are a few more stats on the channel 😄

  • Most people (69.5%) who watch a Spiritual Eldercare video are not subscribers.
  • Most church videos are watched for about 30 minutes. (I create videos that are 40-45 minutes long for audiences who prefer a slightly longer service.)
  • My top three watched videos are all hymns: When the Saints Go Marching In, Amazing Grace, and Jesus Loves Me. (Each week’s church service always gets a bump in viewers, too.)
  • Astonishingly, people all over the world watch various videos! That includes (in order) U.S., Canada, U.K, Australia, Philippines, India, New Zealand, and many more. (FYI for non-English-speaking audiences: YouTube offers closed captions in numerous languages.)
  • In the YouTube universe, 10K is a small number! But it makes a difference because gaining subscribers causes YouTube to show the channel to others more often. In other words, subscribing really does help others to find the resources.

You all inspire me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loving care for elders with dementia.

Peace be with you,

P.S. What are your ideas for more resources I could create? What do you find most helpful? Comment below!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

I access your YouTube site and spiritualeldercare.com every week for one thing or another. As chaplain of a long-term care facility, you are one of my top resources. Thank you for EVERYTHING! You are a blessing to me and our residents. I also read all of your posts! Very helpful

I volunteer at an assisted living home and the residents love singing along to the hymns that you have. They’ll do it for 45 minutes – an hour. They also really appreciate the services. Thanks for all you do!

I was able to get them large print Bibles from Doug in California too. We use those for our Bible studies now.

Wow! That is incredible Elisa! Congratulations! That is a huge number. You very much deserve it! Our aged care residents absolutely love your programs and I now run three separate Sunday services in different areas of our aged care home at 10am, 10.30am and 10.45am for about 50 residents.  Thank you for all that you are doing. Kind regards, SallyActivities AssistantQueensland, Australia
