Dementia-friendly church service: Repentance (Lent week 1)

I’ve recorded a brand-new video for the first Sunday of Lent, with the theme of repentance.

Does the thought of confession and repentance make you queasy or worried? Take heart! Confessing sin and accepting God’s forgiveness in Jesus is the path from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom. This is the good news of the gospel!

As always, this service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Watch the new 43-minute church service on repentance here.

And here’s the new written agenda on repentance.

To save time in the video, I had to leave out the various quotes on confession and repentance that are included in the written agenda, but I especially like this one:

Sincere, soul-felt repentance is a gift. It is … a way to change regrets and sins into gains like humility, empathy, and wisdom. Repentance will not fix everything that was broken, but it will mend your relationship with God, and that is of eternal importance. –Richelle Goodrich

Don’t forget to download my free Lenten Devotions and Activities booklet. Elders may especially enjoy the simple activities for a hands-on way to deepen their Lenten experience.

Peace be with you,
