Dementia-friendly church service: Charity (Lent week 3)

I’ve made slight updates to this week’s nondenominational worship service for Lent week 3, on the theme of charity, or giving to others.

Do your elders, including those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, think they have nothing to give? Encourage them to take heart: All the wisdom, love, peace, and patience they’ve gained during a lifetime of faith are gifts the world truly needs.

Watch the 45-minute church service on charity here.

And here’s the updated written agenda for charity.

Palm Sunday falls on March 29 this year — in just three weeks. I encourage you to purchase fresh palm fronds now to use as a reminiscent feature during the service. Here’s one source to buy palm fronds.

After Palm Sunday, you can use the palm fronds to make palm crosses, a meaningful activity for many elders (especially Catholics).

Peace be with you,

P.S. If you’re a new subscriber, you may not have seen my free Lenten Devotions and Activities booklet. Download it today for more Lenten options for elders with dementia.
