This week’s nondenominational video church service focuses on the theme of change. As usual, this worship service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

According to many liturgical calendars, August 6, 2021, marks the celebration of the Transfiguration — the story in the gospel of Mark, chapter 9. In that story, Jesus’ appearance is transformed with bright light and God speaks aloud to Jesus and three of his followers. It’s a dramatic story! And it offers a chance to reflect on how God’s presence helps us through the changes that inevitably happen during life.
