Oops! Yesterday I posted a video church service on lament for this week, but then I realized that this Sunday, June 5, is Pentecost Sunday. On Pentecost Sunday, the church remembers God’s gift of the Holy Spirit after Jesus’ resurrection. (The church calendar places Pentecost Sunday 50 days after Easter.)
So here’s an updated 45-minute worship service on God’s Spirit, for Pentecost. In it, I use the Biblical images of wind and fire to consider the Holy Spirit — invisible yet powerful to effect change in our lives.
As always, the service for Pentecost is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and it’s intended as an interactive activity — so please, stay with your elders and pause the video as prompted to encourage discussion.
Peace be with you,
