Advent 1: Dementia-friendly church service, Hope

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for each and everyone one of you and your ministry to older adults.

This coming Sunday is the first week of Advent. How wonderful to start this season of active and joyful expectation once again. This week’s updated nondenominational worship service kicks off the four-week Advent season with the traditional theme of hope. As always, it’s suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

If possible, I encourage you to have an advent wreath (with battery-powered candles like these) on your worship service table during this special season.

Watch the 45-minute worship service on hope (Advent week 1) here.

Here’s the written agenda for Avent week 1: Hope.

And in case you missed it, download my free Advent Devotions and Activities guide to further deepen your elders’ Advent experience this month. Each week’s theme includes dementia-friendly prayers, meditations, Christmas songs, and a hands-on activity.

Peace be with you,
