Dementia-friendly church service: Love (Valentine’s Day)

This week’s updated nondenominational worship service is on love — specifically, God’s profound and passionate love for us. It’s a nice tie-in to Valentine’s Day ❤️

As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Watch the 43-minute church service on love here.

And here’s the written agenda.

Note: If possible, have a simple, blank name tag (the sticky kind) available for each viewer. There’s a moment during the homily when you can use them for a simple activity to celebrate the beautiful names that God gives us, such as The Lord’s Delight. Take a few minutes (either during the homily or afterward) to write these “names” on the tags for each person.

It just so happens that Ash Wednesday falls on Feb. 14 this year. If your elders would enjoy an Ash Wednesday observance, I’ve updated my Ash Wednesday video service, suitable for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Be sure to read the description beneath the video. You’ll need to purchase special ashes; they’re online from various sellers.

Watch the 41-minute church service for Ash Wednesday here.

And here’s the written Ash Wednesday agenda.

Peace be with you,

I just want to thank you from bottom of my heart for the beautiful work you do! It is such a blessing I found you! I’m about to start a bible study at an old folks home with many memory impaired seniors and man! When I found your work it felt like such a beautiful blessing!
