Dementia-friendly church service: Gratitude

I made just a few small updates to this week’s nondenominational worship service on gratitude, timed for Thanksgiving. I’ve found that practicing gratitude makes a huge difference in my mood — I hope that proves true for you and your elders, too.

As always, this service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Watch the 44-minute worship service on gratitude here.

And here’s the written agenda.

If you’re looking for a dementia-friendly craft, you might try making cornucopias, a traditional Thanksgiving centerpiece that’s a symbol of abundance and provision. Here’s an easy-to-make version, which elders could fill with real or faux fall fruit (persimmons, mini pumpkins, grapes, pomegranates), branches, and leaves.

Peace be with you,
