Dementia-friendly church service: Love (Valentine’s Day)

In observance of Valentine’s Day, this week’s updated nondenominational worship service is on love — particularly God’s deep love for us.

As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Watch the 42-minute worship service on love here.

And here’s the updated written agenda.

Have a simple, blank name tag (the sticky kind) available for each person. During the interactive homily, I include a time to consider and celebrate the names God gives us, such as The Lord’s Delight or Beloved by God. During the homily, write these “names” on the tags for each person — or, to save time, write out several beforehand and let people choose one.

In case you missed it, next week is Ash Wednesday Feb. 18! I’ve got numerous resources and information for you to begin the season of Lent.

Peace be with you,
