Continuing in covid-19 lockdown mode, I just finished another nondenominational worship service video for elders. It’s now on the Spiritual Eldercare YouTube channel, along with other services I created for Holy Week and beyond.
This week’s worship service video theme is Friendship. What do we value in friends? How is it that God is our ultimate Friend? The service includes interactive questions like these, plus scripture readings, a story, quotes on friendship, and of course, lots of wonderful sing-along hymns.
My dear hope is that these videos, which are especially suitable for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, serve as a comfort to older adults (and caregivers) who may be isolated and longing for the familiarity of a church service.

Your video worship services are just what I needed. I have volunteered to do a regular Sunday worship service at the memory care facility where my wife is a resident as soon as non-residents are again allowed in. Though I have had many years of pastoral ministry, I realize this presents a completely different environment. Your web site and services provide valuable information and a model to emulate. Also of great value are the recordings of the hymns. It gives us music we can use without infringing copyrights. Thank you very much.

Ah, Joe, it makes my heart sing to read this! First of all, thank you for volunteering to provide a regular Sunday service in a memory care home — trust me, you will be blessed beyond what you can currently imagine. Second, blessings and peace to you in your journey with your wife — I love that you are continuing to love her through providing this ministry and, I’m sure, in many, many other ways. And third, thank you for your kind words and for using my resources; it is my dearest wish that people like you will find them and feel empowered through the Spirit to provide this care.

Elisa, Thank you for the online services. I use them every Sunday for my memory care residents at a retirement community. We love it. And when I can’t use the online services I print out and run a service myself with your work. Please keep doing the online services. I will keep using them. Thanks, Heidi
