Dementia-friendly church service: Sacrifice (U.S. Memorial Day)

In the U.S., this weekend is Memorial Day, honoring the sacrifice of people who served their country. It’s fitting that sacrifice is the theme of this week’s slightly updated nondenominational worship service.

As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. It also includes mention of other countries’ celebrations, sometimes called Remembrance Day or Poppy Day.

Watch the 43-minute church service on sacrifice here.

And here’s the written agenda on sacrifice. The document includes instructions on a fun craft activity: making poppies with tissue paper.

Peace be with you,
