Dementia-friendly church service: Honor (Veterans Day)

I’ve made minor adjustments to this week’s nondenominational worship service on honor, for U.S. Veterans Day or Remembrance Day. I hope it gives you a chance to reflect on the honor due to veterans for their sacrificial service — and to remind each other to honor all people as image bearers of God.

As always, the service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Watch the 45-minute worship service on honor here.

And here’s the written agenda.

Peace be with you,

Thankyou for this Elisa. Perfect timing.  In Australia we commemorate Remembrance Day on 11 November and have 1 minute’s silence at 11am.I was rostered to run the fortnightly “Bible & Hymns” session at the Care Home where my sister lives at 2pm.I used parts of your service and added to it with pictures and poems from a friend who was a military illustrator.  I’ll attach photos. I also had my husbands Grandfathers replica war medals. The hymns we sang were:For the beauty of the earthGreat is thy faithfulness O God our help in ages pastGuide me O thou great Jehovah He’s got the whole world in his hands. I also added the Scripture John 15:13.You might like to check out my friends website. He has some wonderful resources. Iancoate.com Thankyou for your wonderful work. It is such a blessing.Ruth BellPerth Western Australia Sent from my Galaxy
