Dementia-friendly Advent services! Starting with Advent 1, Hope

Happy U.S. Thanksgiving today! And then … Happy Advent, which starts Sunday! 🎶 🎄 For the four weeks before Christmas, Advent prepares us to celebrate the birth of Christ as we pray for and look forward to his coming Kingdom.

I’ve recorded all-new video church services for each week of Advent. I’ve uploaded all of them to YouTube as of today, so you can plan ahead if helpful. I’ll also post these week by week.

As always, all of my services and written agendas (and every other resource I create) are suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

After fielding questions about the order over the years, I decided to make new recordings of these services in the most common order: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. (See my previous blog on the question of the “correct” order. 😇)

Plus I had a few new ideas I wanted to incorporate, especially for the Joy service. And besides, it’s fun to make new recordings when I get a chance 😁 🎄

Consider scheduling a watch party with my updated Christmas Eve Candlelight Service; it’s only 36 minutes long. Here’s the written agenda as well.

Be sure to download my free sing-along Christmas carols! You can also find them all on YouTube with easy-to-read lyrics.

Also don’t miss my Advent devotions booklet, a free downloadable resource that includes prayers, song suggestions, and even dementia-friendly crafts for each week of Advent.

If you’re interested in slightly longer but still dementia-friendly Advent Bible studies, those are here. (Also available as videos on YouTube.)

O come let us adore Him,
