Dementia-friendly worship service: Community

This week’s nondenominational church service for elders, especially those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, focuses on the theme of community. It’s not easy these days to feel a part of a larger community, but the spiritual truth is that even when we are apart, we are together — and we need each other (perhaps more than ever)!

Please use this 48-minute video service to worship with the elders in your care. Remember, it’s best to have someone ready and able to pause the video at certain points for discussion — a key element in fostering connection and, yes, community.

And as I say at the end of the video: As part of my commitment to you, my community, I would be happy to chat or pray for a few minutes with you or any elder in your care if that would be a blessing to them. Feel free to send me a message to set it up by phone, Zoom, FaceTime, or whatever works.
