Dementia-friendly church service: Gifts (Epiphany)

In many church traditions, the second Sunday after Christmas marks Epiphany, or Three Kings’ Day, the final week of Advent, to honor the three wise men’s visit to the child Jesus with their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

So this week’s updated nondenominational worship service theme is gifts — why we give gifts and how we can share God’s gifts with others.

Watch the 44-minute worship service on gifts for Epiphany here.

And here’s the written agenda on gifts and the celebration of Epiphany.

Also, Happy New Year! 🥳 Since this is the first Sunday of 2026, I’ve also created my 2026 lineup of worship service themes. The order changes slightly every year because Lent and Easter dates change too 😇 but hopefully this will help with your planning as you serve elders.

And in case I haven’t said it lately, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the good work that you do, whether you’re an activity director, spiritual leader, or family member caring for a loved one at home. I value and pray for you all!

Peace be with you,
