Dementia-friendly church service: Sacrifice (Memorial Day or Remembrance Day)

Although Pentecost Sunday is this weekend (see below), today I’m posting the updated worship service on sacrifice, in honor of U.S. Memorial Day, celebrated Monday May 25 this year.

Your country may celebrate Remembrance Day or some other Memorial Day (I mention several in the video). In all cases, these days honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for a higher cause — as we also remember Jesus’ sacrifice once for all.

And here’s the updated written agenda on sacrifice.

Pentecost Sunday, “the birthday of the church,” is officially this Sunday, May 24. I posted that video and agenda last week, and here they are again:

Here’s the written agenda for Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.

As always, either service is suitable for older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Feel free to use whatever service works best for your group!

Peace be with you,

P.S. For Memorial or Remembrance Day, your residents may enjoy making lapel poppies or stemmed red poppies from simple craft supplies.
